Today Yesterday was the anniversary of my brother’s death. 33 years ago, he and his best friend were riding their bikes along a two lane highway near our hometown. They were on their way to K-mart to spend his friend’s birthday money. They were hit by a van. My brother’s friend was killed instantly and my brother died the next day in the hospital. I was 6 years old. He was 14. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t cross my mind in some form or another. Even 33 years later. Especially now that I’m a dad, we try to talk about Chad whenever we can with B. Having been an only child since Chad’s accident I know what B has ahead of him as an only child. Merle comes from a big family so he has a bunch of aunts and uncles on her side. My side it’s just my parents. So this morning, B and I were playing and out of the blue B says that he wishes he could have a pet owl. Don’t really know where it came from, but it offered me the opportunity to tell him about the time his uncle Chad found a baby owl in the alley near our house (growing up in rural Iowa, it wasn’t really an alley with fire escapes and dumpster that most alleys are thought of - this was a dirt road surrounded on both sides by trees and our playground growing up) and brought it home, put it in a cage, and for a few magical days, had a pet owl himself.
I’ve got a friend that’s been missing for about 2 weeks now. His last contact was a phone conversation with his mother and swiping his school card on January 4th.
Since then, his phone would ring until voicemail (now going straight to voicemail) and there hasn’t been any other form of activity from him.
His name is Bradley Bennett and he lives in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco. He attends the University of San Francisco and walks to and from for classes, but classes don’t start back until next week. People at the college are watching for him, but can’t really do anything until classes start back.
Bradley is in his early 30s, about 6’ tall with short to medium length dark brown hair, but usually wears old SF Giants cap in photo above.
Trying to get this out to this area - I don’t think I have any followers from this area so some signal boosting would be greatly appreciated.
If you have seen, see or know Bradley, please send me a message (x-opher.tumblr.com) or call 270.566.1162.
Thanks for your help.
